Milliways
Gil Grissom is a deeply private individual. His father walked out on his mother and himself when he was five years old. Around that time, his mother began going deaf. Consequently, he grew up in a household that relied on sign language more than verbal articulation, and the mannerisms have stayed with him.

He was interested in insects at an early age, wandering the beach near his home for the bodies of animals washed ashore. At the age of 22, he became the youngest coroner for his hometown. After obtaining his Ph.D in entomology, he has worked in various cities across the country, most recently being Las Vegas, Nevada, where he is the night shift supervisor.

He is married to the Celtic Fertility god jack_inthegreen. As of their wedding, Gil Grissom can be considered AU, along with Sara Sidle. They have not, nor will ever be in a romantic relationship. Grissom will be retiring from the Las Vegas crime lab at the end of season seven in order to raise his children with Jack in peace.

Dr. Gilbert Grissom is a forensic entomologist working for the Las Vegas Crime Lab. He is a very intelligent man, with blue eyes, salt-and-pepper hair, and a beard. He is a tall man with a slight paunch, and considered attractive by many women. Though an expert in his field and able to spout off random quotes at the drop of a hat, he is also socially inept and very much clueless about how to interact with normal people.
